101 in 1001

I’m very excited, I am about to venture into the 101 in 1001 for the third time. It has been shown that writing down goals gives you a higher change of completion.

This time around I am taking a new approach. An approach that may help me actually achieve all 101, it’s call persistence and creativity. It isn’t enough to write it down, you have to put a plan in motion. So here comes the motion!

The Mission:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:

Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?

Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

The Start Date:
11/13/2016 (Starting writing this… all tasks may not be on here)

The End Date:

1. Write a Will
2. Finish creating 2015 photo album
3. Create 2016 photo album
4. Hike in Oregon
5. Teach Logan the joy of geocaching

6. Go to London/Paris
7. Go to Italy
8. Take Logan to 3 new stadiums/arenas
9. Take a cooking lesson in Italy

10. Run in a Color Run

11. Read a classic novel
12. Try four new restaurants in Las Vegas
13. Make time for my friends in far away places
14. Get a new passport
15. Unsubscribe from junk emails/promotions

  3. This is such a great list!! I love that it’s a mix of serious life to do list stuff (roth IRA, credit score) and half fun just because (like a giveaway, meet a blogger). It’s so inspiring!

  4. When you decide to plan your trip to Canada, let me know. I’ve been to all the provinces except 2, and I can tell you what is worth seeing. My parents moved to Canada in 1985, and have lived from coast to coast, so we have had some fabulous vacations all across the country.

  5. Found your blog through Pinterest and I have enjoyed looking around! You have wonderful spirit, enthusiasm, and ideas! I love the idea of 101 in 1001. I may just have to try this for myself. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  6. I found your Lazy Girl Fitness on Pinterest and have read through quite a bit of the rest of your blog. Love it! You’re so creative! I wanted to do a 101 in 1001 a few years ago, but never carried through with it. You’ve inspired me to try again!

  7. I found you on Pinterest and was completely inspired to make a 101 in 1001 list for my soon-to-be husband and I! Thanks so much. Looking forward to keeping up with you and letting you know how far along in my list we are!
